BIOGRAPHY OF A’BECKETT, ULICK BOURKE:

 Ulick Bourke A’beckett served in WW1 1919. He was born in Melbourne Victoria, Upper Beaconsfield Cardinia Australia. Ulick Bourke studied at an Imperial school which was in Ulick’s hometown. Ulick’s occupation before devoting himself to serve his country was an Orchardist. Ulick was born in 1883 and died on October 6th, 1963. Ulick Bourke didn’t die during war, he returned to his hometown and lived a normal life until he became old and ill and was placed at the Repatriation General Hospital and died at the age of 75. Ulick Bourke was buried and commemorated at Berwick Cemetery, Victoria Australia on Wednesday 1.45 pm. Ulick Bourke was beloved by his family and friends which was a relief and joy when Ulick returned from the war alive. He received a solemn commemoration when he died.   

In May 1916 Ulick's service in World War one was as Private SN 2251, in the 8th Light horse regiment. Ulick’s ship that he embarked on was HMAT Uganda A66 in 1916. He enlisted on the 27th of July 1915. Ulick recieved a British war medal and a victory medal which served him with great pride.
