OBITUARY
The death occurred at Brisbane last week of James Henry Harrop. He first came to Hughenden in 1905 and, some years later, joined his brother, the late George Harrop, in the well-known firm of Wilks and Harrop. He served in the Middle East with the Light Horse during the 1914-18 war and. after being wounded, was invalided out of the Army, and returned home. By many old Hughendenites. he will be best remembered for his performances at the Hughenden show ring especially when he won the high jump with Monohan. Two other good hunters were White Wings and Charcoal. He was a splendid horse-man and a good sport. He was married to Miss Jane Foley, formerly of Hughenden. Jim was 67 years of age at the time of his death, and had not enjoyed good health of later years.
