Born at Bundaberg and educated at Gooburrum. The son of John George Maultby and Sarah Elizabeth Maultby (nee Dennis), of Gooburrum. Enlisted at Bundaberg, November, 1915. Left Sydney early in 1916 for England, where he went to Salisbury Plain. Sent to France, went into action, and was never wounded.
