James Millington left his loving family to fight in the first Great War. His family didnt want to see him go....and they certainly didnt want him to never return. His loss was heavily felt by those he left behind. He is forever in the heart of family members....his name lives on in descendents of the Millington lineage.
I remember my Grandmother Mary Millington (sister of Private James Millington) talking about him...how he enlisted...and when they learnt of his passing. To this day and onward he is honoured and his sacrifice valued.
James was the first born son of 9 children born to Herbert James Millington and Massey Rosanna Mahon on 27th June 1896. His fathers last wishes included keeping James memory alive in the families hearts.....
Watch this space for soon a biography of his life in photo and story as well as records will be completed and uploaded by family members ......
