Born in 1883, Corporal Henry Herbert TURNER was the second child of John Alfred TURNER and Harriett Clark.

He enlisted on the 16th November 1915 in South Australia, and embarked with the 3rd Light Horse regiment on the 16th March 1916.

Two of his brothers also enlisted;

Private Walter William TURNER SN 186 43rd Infantry Battalion. KIA 1 August 1917

Driver Edward John TURNER SN 5962/8985 2nd Divisional Train

On returning from war, Henry Herbert TURNER married Agnes Edith BEAMES in 1920 at the Methodist Church in Clare.

He died on the 7th October 1971 and is buried in the War section Centennial Park Cemetery in Adelaide, South Australia.
