Biography contributed by Paul Trevor

'Our Volunteers.

Mr. A. R. Scott, Hornet Bank, has written to inform us that Sergt. C. E. Scott, recently reported wounded (probably from Charleville) is his second son, who enlisted at Brisbane eleven months ago. Mr. Scott received a message from the Secretary for Defence conveying the information that his son had received a bullet in the thigh, and that he was then in the Australian Hospital at Heliopolis, wound not reported serious. Mr. Scott has since received a cable from Sergt. Scott, stating: "Bullet taken out; doing well" Mr. Scott's many friends will be pleased at the reassuring news that Sergt. Scott's wound is not serious, and will join in hoping he will soon be at the enemy, again helping to shorten the period to the day of victory.' from Western Star and Roma Advertiser 31 Jul 1915 (nla.gov.au)

'LOCAL AND GENERAL NEWS.

The "Pastoral Review" states that among the Queenslanders who have joined the Australian expeditionary forces are C. F. Scott, son of Mr. Andrew Scott, of Hornet Bank Station, and J. H. S. Hamilton, son of Mr. T. A. Hamilton, formerly of Tambo Station. The former is a sergeant in the Fifth Light Horse, the latter is a private in the Eleventh Eight Horse.' from Morning Bulletin 22 Nov 1915 (nla.gov.au)
