Military Medal Citation
During 3rd and 4th Sept., with L/Cpl Coulter he worked continuously keeping on when others were exhausted. He showed conspicuous courage and bravery. Not once, but again and gain did he attend to wounded under heavy shellfire and brought them safely out of it. His splendid example stimulated the other bearers and caused them to put forward fresh efforts which finally resulted in the successful evacuation of all out wounded.
