Biography contributed by B Stanleu

Who was Thomas Gascoigne Shepherd?

He enlisted in Sydney in 1915, fought with the 53rd Battalion, and was killed at the Battle of Fromelles on 19 July 1916. He has no known grave — and no family has ever been traced.

All we know is that he left everything to a friend, William Belshaw of Ashfield.
