His younger brothers, 1910 Pte Lindsay John MacPherson, 13th Field Artillery Brigade AIF, died of wounds, 16 April 1917, aged 20 and 5708 Pte Stewart Gordon Macpherson, 3rd Battalion AIF, was killed in action 9 November 1917, aged 26.
