Biography

"LATE PTE. G. SHUTTLEWORTH. 

Mr. and Mrs. J. Shuttleworth, of Wirrabara, have revived information that their son, Pte. Gavin Shuttleworth, was killed in action in Egypt on August 9. He left Adelaide in June last year, and spent some months in Gallipoli. He was also several times in action against the Turks in Egypt. Pte. Shuttleworth was born in Laura, and was 37 years of age. His youngest brother, Bglr F. Shuttleworth, is now in Egypt." - from the Adelaide Observer 28 Oct 1916 (nla.gov.au)
