Military Medal
'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operations against enemy positions south of SOMME east of HAMEL on 8th August, 1918. This N.C.O. was in charge of all lines at Brigade Forward Station. He displayed great ability and determination in maintaining line communications in the Brigade Area both before and after Zero hour, under extremely difficult conditions and heavy shell fire. By his fearless courage and coolness he set a splendid example to those working with him thereby ensuring effective communications throughout. His conduct was very fine.'
