He was the son of Harry and Mary Elizabeth Hutchinson and the brother of Tom, Nellie, Dolly and Kate Hutchinson. In 1911 they lived at 534 Mansfield Road, Sherwood, Nottingham.
At the time of enlistment on 14/8/1916, Harry lived at Bamawn Extension, Victoria.
