Private Wilfred John Wilson, 24th Battalion from Ballarat North, Victoria.

A 35 year old labourer prior to enlisting  in 1915, he embarked for overseas with the Headquarters Details - Pioneers from Melbourne on 10 May 1915 aboard HMAT Euripides.

While serving at Gallipoli, he was taken ill and invalided back to Australia. After arriving in Australia on 22 November 1915, he was discharged on 25 January 1916.

He died on 22 April 1917 and his death was certified as "materially aggravated by War Service".

He is buried in the Ballarat General Cemetery, Victoria.
