Pte. Searle V. Eggins, who prior to enlisting some two years ago was in the employ of the Alstonville Co-op. Dairy Coy., has been invalided back to Australia. He was in Egypt for some time and then was sent to France. It was there he was wounded in the ankle by a German hand grenade. He was for ten months in a hospital in England, where he underwent several operations. – Northern Star, Lismore, NSW, issue dated September 27, 1917.
