Biography contributed by Samantha Callaghan
William Graham, named after his father and grandfather, had been in the Citizen Military Forces in Wollongong, NSW for 7 years. He and his friends thought the war would be exciting so they joined up. He was well liked by friends and workmates and his sisters adored their big brother.
During his time with the AIF he was known as Willie, and according to his platoon sargeant he was a very "conscientious lad who was extremely well liked by the officers, n.c.o's and privates". - W.A Dowd.
