Son of James O'Brien and Mary S. O'Brien of Inverell, NSW.

Husband of Daisy Florence O'Brien nee Dickings of O'Sullivan Street, Surry Hills, NSW. Theodore and Daisy were married during 1912c in Sydney.

Commenced retun to Australia on 24 June 1916 aboard HT Port Sydney disembarking on 28 July 1916
