William arrived in Melbourne, Australia on 9 February 1912 aboard Friedrich der Glosse then settled at Swan Hill where he was employed as a Cook. He swore his Oath of Allegience on 27 April 1916
Also known as Willem Christian Van Der Heiden. Address at the time of enlistment was given as Berriwillock, Victoria.
