On 31 August 1919 Stanley married Eleanor Elizabeth Atkinson in the Church of Sacred Heart , Eden Grove, Holloway, Islington, London, England. W.G. Hall officiated

Commenced return to Australia on 20 December 1920 aboard HT Runic disembarking on 6 February 1920
