Trooper Claud Adolph Frederick Jones (Service No:3361) enlisted in the AIF on 26 April 1917 and was attached to 28th Reinforcements 6th Light Horse Regiment. He embarked from Sydney bound for Suez on board HMAT Port Lincoln A17 on 11 June 1917. Attached to the 6th Light Horse Regiment, Private Jones was hospitalised in Egypt with Malaria, and embarked from Kantara for the RTA on 28 June 1919 on board HT Madras. Private Jones was Discharged on 2 September 1919.

Born in 1895 in Richmond, Melbourne Victoria, Claud was the third of five children of Ardolph Victor Jones (b1865 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Maria (Lil) Helen Crook (b1866 in Hay, NSW). Ardolph (a French Polisher) and Lil married in 1887 in Melbourne Victoria. Following Lil's death in 1902, Ardolph remarried and moved to Fremantle WA where he worked as a French Polisher before settling in Sydney, NSW by 1910.

Claud was a Labourer in Sydney before his enlistment in WWI. In 1922 in Goulburn, NSW he married Daisy May Cook (b1900 in Goulburn, NSW). The couple settled in Sydney NSW where they raised their family and Claud worked as a Tram Conductor. Claud died in 1957 and Daisy in 1975.
