Full name William Aloysius O'Donovan but served as William O'Donovan. At some stage he was issued with another number 2278 but number 1402 was used mostly.
Son of John Francis O'Donovan and Alice O'Donovan nee Clarke of Fitzroy, Victoria.
Next of kin given as his brother T. O'Donovan of Rosary, Myer Street, East Geelong, Victoria.
Commenced return to Australia on 18 October 1917 aboard HT Beltana disembarking on 10 December 1917
