Son of Mrs Mary Alice WHITWORTH, Hilltop, Trongate Street, Granville, New South Wales
Wounded at Pozieres 24 July 1916 and invalided to Base Hospital, Rouen for three weeks. Recovered and rejoined unit, Somme and Ypres, wounded on second occasion at Fritz's Folly near Bapaume and invalided to Rouen, thence to Cambridge and Harefield Hospitals England. Returned to Australia and discharged as medically unfit 6 March 1918.
