Enlisted under alias of Cecil John Upton. On 30 March 1920 he signed a Statuatory Declaration stating that his real name was in fact Cecil John Hennessy, appears on page 16 of his Attestation record.
Son of John Hennessy and Nellie of Windsor, NSW.
Next of kin given as his aunt Mrs. Alice Crew of Station Street, Newtown, NSW
24 November 1914 - enlisted at Sydney, NSW, with the 6th Light Horse Regiment with the rank of Private
23 July 1917 - transferred to the 2nd Light Horse Brigade Machine Gun Squadron with the rank of Trooper
Commenced return to Australia on 5 March 1919 aboard HT Port Sydney disembarking on 21 April 1919
