This section came under very heavy shell fire. One of the gun teams bolted and Sgt. Hunt promptly rushed up and eventually brought this team to a standstill. He then led all the teams under cover. He kept up a supply of ammunition under very difficult and trying circumstances, and rendered very valuable services. Previously during the operations round BELLICOURT from 29th. September onwards, this N.C.O. responded fully to his opportunities and did not hesitate to take command of the forward section he was with when the officer in charge was badly wounded. He is deserving of special recognition. |
