Pretoria Herbert ZANKER was born on 20th January, 1900 in Orroroo in South Australia (his birth date on his war record states 1902)
His parents were Carl Friedrich Wilhelm ZANKER and Augusta Pauline KUPKE
He enlisted in Adelaide, SA on 2nd July, 1940 with the 2/43 Battalion, 9 Division and was discharged on 14th November 1943
He married Elma Violet COX on 6th March, 1943 in S.A.
Pretoria died on 6th October 1985 in Pennington, SA and is buried in Enfield Memorial Park (Cremation) East Niche Wall No. 1 His wife Elma died in 1999 in Walkerville SA
