* ROWAN, John Francis (Camperdown) Born in Warrnambool in 1891, the son of James Winifred (Murnane) Rowan.
Prior to enlistment John was a member of the Timboon rifle club.
He was a farmer working at Camperdown when he enlisted in August 1915, serving as 4600 Pte J.F Rowan. He embarked with 14th Battalion (14th Reinforcements), from Melbourne on HMAT A70 Ballarat on 18 February 1916, transferred to the Australian Provost Corps prior to return to Australia, embarking on 26 July 1919.
