Walter's parents were Anne and William Falconbridge of Norfolk England. His father died in 1917.
Walter left England sailing on the Omrah, Orient Line, on the 8th December 1911 for Freemantle.
Walter's brother was William who fought with the Australian Army and died in August 1918 and is buried in Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
John William Falconbridge, Walter's cousin, also joined the Australian Army and died on 2 September 1915 in Gallipoli
Walter was wounded in WWI and suffered gunshot wounds to the thigh and face. He survived the war and made his home in Australia where he is buried.
