Grandfather
My memories of Percy are little. He lived with his carer in North Fremantle in the latter years of his life until his death in 1958. Percy was a great footballer and played for Fitzroy. He was know as the "Rose of Fitzroy" because of the rose he always wore on the lapel of his jacket. He was born in Victoria and moved to Western Australia post war where he played for East Fremantle Football Club.
i know he served in France and sent postcard home from Paris but I cannot get hold of them as someone else in the family possesses these treasured memories.
He was also a member of an Aussie rules team that played an exhibition match in London during WW1.
He was a private in the 16th Battalion comprising WA and SA members.
Percy had a daughter Margaret Trotter who married Reginald Edgar, my father.
Maggie died in 1954 before Percy did.
