His father was Edward TOWNER and his mother was Isabella BARTRIM

he married Bessie Laurel CANN on 25.4.1924 in Casino - Bessie died in 1944 and he then married Edna Jean ALLEN on 6.9.1945 in Ettalong

Aubrey had one child Robin who was from his first marriage

He was a school teacher and a very good one at that & very patient with children

He died in 1984 in Concord NSW

Aubrey Frederick TOWNER was born in Rous Mill, Lismore on 2nd May, 1896

His parents were Edward TOWNER & Isabella BARTRIM

He married Bessie Laurel CANN in Casino on 25th April, 1924 - after her death on 23rd March, 1944 he married Edna Jean ALLEN on 6th September, 1945 in Ettalong Methodist Church- one daughter Robin from his 1st marriage

He enlisted for WW1 on 28th August, 1915  aged 19 1/2 years but was discharged for medical reasons & rejoined again at Moree on 16th May, 1917 aged 21 and was accepted

He was with the 2nd Battalion, 25th Reinforcements - Unit embarked from Sydney on board HMAT Hororata on 14th June 1917

He was unable to get transport back after the war so stayed in London until 1920 when he returned to Sydney on 22nd June 1920 on the ship Bahia Castillo
