Enlisted and served as Charles Vear Fossey
Son of William Alfred Fossey and Maria Fossey nee Quaile of St Kilda, Victoria. Brother of Arthur JohnFossey who returned to Australia on 8 April 1918 having served with the 32nd Battalion, Eva Mary Fossey, Lena Florence Fossey, Alfred Thomas Edward Fossey, Ada Sophia Fossey who was later named as next of kin, Walter Ernest Fossey, Mabel Victoria Fossey, George Clyde Fossey who was killed in action on3 May 1917 and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial and Elsie Vera Fossey
