Add my storyBiography contributed by Karen Marr
A 22 year old farmer, who enlisted in WA (Boulder) - 1915 - 10LH
Service was "not good" in the eyes of this soldier (his words - via official documents in his service file).
He was court martialled twice, served time in prison (The Citadel, Cairo) - and had VD 3 times.
By 1918 he had stowed away on a ship to Australia, after having deserted in October 1918.
In 1917 he had written to the newspapers asking for letters from strangers because he was lonely = the newspaper reported that he had been inundated with letters and parcels - to be adressed to him at the Imperial Camel Corps, Number 3 Company.
Post war requests filed in his service records - puts his location in Victoria.
