Walter Henry BENNETT was born in Williamstown SA on 29th September 1883 to Mary Jane Patterson (1853 - 1915) and Henry George Bennett (1852 - 1929)
There were 11 children to that marriage.

Walter Henry BENNETT never married.
Military service
Walter Henry BENNETT joined the AIF in Guildford WA on 9thDecember 1914. He was allocated Service No 364 and joined the 10th Light Horse Brigade in Claremont WA on 12th December 1914. He embarked from Fremantle WA on 17th February 1915 on HMAT “Surada”.
Walter served in Gallipoli and Egypt. His war records show he was in and out of hospital with Jaundice and bouts of Diarrhoea, and other “sicknesses”.
Walter returned to Australia on 26th August 1919 on HT “Delta”.
Walter was discharged as Medically Unfit with Jaundice on 21st December 1919
