Biography contributed by Brendon Lutwyche

Hudson (known as Jack) was the 3rd son of Thomas Brereton Lutwyche and Martha Elizabeth Clark. He was born on 8 October 1894 in Beaconsfield, where his father was a miner.

The family lived at Fingal and Mathinna and later had a farm Mountain View near Storey’s Creek.

Along with others in the family Hudson engaged in mining. The Lutwyche prospect occurs approximately 1 kilometre northeast of Aberfoyle and is comprised of two sets of mineralised veins which can be traced along strike for approximately 750 metres.

On 26 February 1939 Hudson married Margaret (Meg) Ada Wrigley at St.James Church, Franklin. They had 5 children: Neville, Bruce, Lurline, Rodney and Maurice.

Hudson died on 24 December 1957 at St.Mary’s at  age 63.
