    6 Sep 1917: Involvement AIF WW1, Private, 2357, 4th Pioneer Battalion, Serving in the 4th Pioneer Battalion, Reinforcement 4, based at WW1 camp Fovant, Wiltshire. An Army Form B179 is recorded as noting Pte is much older than what was reported on enlistment (55 years), and suffering from senility. The medical officer recommends discharge as permanently unfit.
    12 Feb 1918: Discharged AIF WW1, Private, 2357, 4th Pioneer Battalion, Disembarked in Australia on 3 January 1918, travelling overland to Brisbane. Discharged as medically unfit on 12 February 1918.
