Add my storyBiography contributed by Faithe Jones
One of the campaigns in which he fought was at Gallipoli, Turkey. It is believed that Garnet was wounded and laid unconscious in a pile of dead men for 3 days, before someone heard him groaning, and pulled him out! He was taken back to England to recover, where doctors wanted to amputate his leg because he had a bullet or a piece of shrapnel embedded in his knee. Garnet had other ideas and convinced them to leave it where it was. He had some trouble with it from time to time, but when he died in 1967 at the age of 73 years, at least he still had both his legs.
