Regarding Arthur Christensen's Army Number, and his later life.
Arthur survived the war, and returned to Australia sometime in 1919, with his bride, Violet (nee Oke). Violet was from Cornwall (or Devon?) and Arthur had ancestral links to that part of the world from his mother's side of the family. Sadly, Violet had two brothers who were killed during WW1 - I believe they were both members of the British Army.
Upon returning to Australia Arthur and Violet moved to Brisbane, and raised two daughters there. They lived for many years in Bardon and then in Ashgrove, which are suburbs on the inner northern side of Brisbane.
Arthur worked for the Postmaster-General's Department (PMG), which looked after provision of postal and telegraphic services throughout Australia - it was the forerunner of both Australia Post and Telecom (later called Telstra).
