Son of John Bridson, of Sebastopol, Victoria, Australia, and the late Annie Bridson.
Oscar enlisted 16th July 1915 as a 24-year-old, single Miner. Embarked Melbourne 24th Sep 1915. Taken on Strength 21st Battalion, 7th Jan 1916. After a period in hospital in 1917 he rejoined his battalion on 19th December. Oscar was accidentally shot on 3rd June 1918. He was buried at Ville an Ancre Communal Cemetery. His father, John, of Hertford St, had died 7 Oct 1916. He was the father of Alice, Albert and David with Arthur, Oscar, Sam and Walter on overseas service.
Mrs. E.J. Bridson, of Sebastopol, has been officially notified that Private Oscar Edward Bridson was killed in action in France on June 3. He left Australia in Septemnber, 1915, and was previously wounded. Previous to leaving he was sceretary at the Berringa Rifle Club, and was one of four who enlisted.
