5 May 1917 Wounded in action, Gunshot wound to the shoulder
21 August 1917 - Rejoined unit from wonding
14 October 1917 - Wounded in action on ANZAC Ridge, 2 occasion, shell wounds penetrationg his head and chest

4 October 1917 - Recommed for Military Medal, citation reads: During operation on Menin Road on September 1917 he was attachjed to a section of engineers employed in the construction of communication trench in the vicinity of Black Watch Corner. His cool disregard of danger was a splendid example to the men of his party and contributed in no small degree to the expeditious manner in which the work was eexecuted
