                     appointed to F Company, 7th Infantry Battalion, Broadmeadows Camp

19/10/1914    embarked Port Melbourne, VIC onboard HMAT A20 Hororata
                     as a Lance Corporal with 7th Infantry Battalion

05/01/1915    embarked to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Forces, Gallipoli, ANZAC
                     onboard Galeka, ex Alexandria

08/05/1915    he was killed in action - Gallipoli, ANZAC

He had no grave, due to being blown up whilst trying to blow up mines.

May 1915       stated by Private 1662 Leslie Thomas CULLEN
                     "Walters was a fairish, slightly built man of about 19 years of age.
                       He came from Kyneton, Victoria. He was a porter on the Railway.
                       Informant knew him well and gave his Christian name.
                       Information was told by Pte Cochran, 7th Battalion, that early one
                       morning in May, Walker and he were sent out to locate and blow up
                       mines, something went wrong, and in the explosion Walters was
                       blown to atoms and he, Cochran, luckily escaped with only concussion,
                       which kept him 2 days in hospital."
