Herbert Moore Eagles
Corporal Herbert Moore Eagles was born in Colchester, Londonderry, Nova Scotia, CANADA. He was living in Australia where he joined up to fight in WW1. He was a labourer with three years previous military experience in the 66th Regiment militia. He served in Gallipoli, During time in England in 1916 he met and married Susannah Neale in June, 1916. He was wounded on many occassions and finally died of gunshot wounds to his back on 27 July 1916. Herbert had been married just 6 weeks. He is buried at Punchvilliers Cemetery, FRANCE.
Fondly remembered by Susannah’s grandaughter, Rosalind Miners. Herbert left no children.
