Son of John Urquhart and Agnes Urquhart nee Smith of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Husband of Jenna (Jane) Anne Urquhart of Spencer Street, South Bunbury, WA. Father of John Urquhart who returned to Australia on 10 February 1919 having served with the 10th Light Horse Regiment.
21 March 1916 - enlisted at Blackboy Hill, WA, with the 16th Battalion and with ther rank of Private
5 February 1917 - wounded in action. Multiple shell wounds to the left side
22 July 1917 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Nestor diembarking on 10 September 1917
1 October 1917 - discharged at the 5th Military District
