Surname sometimes spelt as Omerod

Son of Sedgwick Ormerod and Charlotte Margaret Ormerod of 4 Canterbury Road, Toorak, Victoria.

Brother of George Booth Ormerod who was killed in action of 7 August 1915 while serving with the 7th Light Horse Regiment and has no known grave. His name appears on the Lone Pine Memorial 8 under the name of Omerod

During 1916 Eric suffered a wound to the hand but details are sketchy

Commenced return to Australia on 13 February 1917 aboard HT Benalla disembarking at Fremantle and failed to re-embarked. On 10 April 1917 Eric embarked HS Karoola for onward travel to Melbourne disembarking on 10 April 1917.
