Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

Albert (Stanley) was the eldest of two sons of Albert McLean Goodall (born 1865 in London) and Agnes Christianne Reese (born 1869 in Sale, Victoria). Albert Snr immigrated to Rockhampton, QLD with his family in 1870, and was working as a Bootmaker in Paddington, Brisbane, QLD in 1895 when he married Agnes. Albert Snr and Agnes settled in Brisbane where Albert worked as a Boot Importer, Salesman and Warehouseman before moving to Moggill.

Stanley was a Stockman when he enlisted in the AIF in March 1917. He served with 9th and 15th Infantry Battalions as a Private (Service No: 7480) and was severely WIA (GSW to head) in France in July 1918. Younger brother Ralph served as a Private (Service No:6788) with 25th Infantry Battalion and was WIA on two occasions in 1918.

Discharged in January 1920, Stanley moved to Grafton, NSW and worked as a Labourer before becoming a Seaman on Steam Colliers. He died on board a Steam Collier at Balls Head in Granville, NSW in 1929.
