He was 24 and the son  of Dr. Harold L. and Marcia Cummings, of "Dunesbin," Thirroul, New South Wales.


Second Lieutenant, No. 5 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps.

He enlisted in the AIF on 18 August 1915 and embarked at Melbourne for overseas on 9 September 1915 per HMAT "Ballarat" (A70). Initially with the 3rd Field Ambulance he transferred to the Australian Flying Corps on 25 August 1917. He died as a result of a mid air collision over Minchinhampton Aerodrome.
