27 Oct 1917: Honoured Military Medal, On operations near Broodseinde on 12 October 1917 this NCO was in charge of his company signallers and did exceptionally good work in maintaining communications with his company and Battalion Headquarters, repeatedly at great personal risk and heavy under shell fire he repaired the telephone lines. His unfailing courage and devotion to duty set a splendid example to others.
