Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

Clement Joseph Tymons was only 18 years of age when he enlisted. He was working for Harris, Scarfe and Company at the time. As an original member of the 27th Battalion he served on Gallipoli and was promoted Corporal. In France he was promoted to Sergeant during the heavy fighting at Pozieres and was seen to fall near Flers.

His brother, 408 Sergeant James Patrick Tymons 32nd Battalion AIF, had been killed in action at Fromelles 20 July 1916, aged 22.

Their father, James Patrick Tymons had passed away during 1912 and their mother, Mary Anna Tymons received all of their medals and memorial awards.

Clement was reburied during 1926 due to a graves relocation and his identity disc was returned to his mother at the same time.
