Spencer was born as Thomas Spencer LUPTON in Braidwood, NSW in 1896

His parents were Thomas Joseph LUPTON & Louisa Whiles DAWSON who married in Braidwood in 1892

He enlisted as a Private on 19th August, 1915 and embarked from Sydney with the 2nd Infantry Battalion, 12th reinforcements on 30th December, 1915 on the HMAT Medic

Spencer died of wounds in France on 18th November, 1916 and is buried in the Heilly Station Cemetery
