| 8 Aug 1918: | Honoured Military Medal, Sergeant Harold George McLennan, MM On 8 August 1918, during the opening day of the Battle of Amiens, Sergeant McLennan performed an act of exceptional gallantry. Alongside two fellow soldiers, he captured two German machine guns and took approximately 20 German soldiers prisoner. For his bravery and devotion to duty, he was awarded the Military Medal (MM), one of the British Empire's highest decorations for gallantry awarded to non-commissioned officers and other ranks. | |
