Son of Francis Wellington and Anne Isabella WERE
CLIVE WELLINGTON WERE who was killed in action on Gallipoli on 25th April 1915 was the younger son of Mr. F. W. Were of Melbourne. He was born in 1890 and entered the Prep. School in 1903 and came up to the Senior School in 1905.
On leaving at the end of 1906 he went on to the land, and was farming at Officer, on the Gippsland line, when he enlisted. He joined F Company, 5th Battalion (the Public Schools Company), and after going to Egypt was killed at the famous Landing on Gallipoli on 25th April 1915.
