Charles Edward Whitley
Charles suffered from Gas Warfare whilst fighting in WW1 and was sent to England to recover before returning to the Front.
When he returned to Australia he married and had five children. Unfortunately his wife died with the birth of her fifth child and, just a year later, Charles died as a result of the damage to his lungs from the Gas in the War.
On his deathbed he wed a young woman who took responsibility for the 5 children and raised them with the aid of Legacy.
Two of Charles' sons signed up for WW2, and his third child, Leonard, paid the Supreme Sacrifice in New Guinea.
