Mrs. R. Pearson, Macarthur, received the sad intelligence on Monday that her eldest son, Private John Bingham, had succumbed to an attack of measles and pneumonia on the 8th inst., in hospital in France. Private Bingham, who was 23 years of age, enlisted from Macarthur in January, 1915, and was at the memorable Gallipoli landing. He went through that campaign scatheless, but was wounded at Pozieres.
